Volunteer Restoration Day at the Peach Preserve
Help us care for and nurture a small shoreline demonstration garden that was installed in 2018 at the Peach Preserve! This garden has inspired people to plant some of the native coastal plants that help keep our coastlines healthy and intact, but it does require a bit more help and stewardship as we hope it takes a firmer hold on its beachside site.
Join us on Friday, July 1, for a day of tending the demonstration garden, sprucing up the Peach Preserve trail, and weeding out non-native grasses from the garden area. We envision this restoration day as a precursor to a planting event to take place in the fall of this year. SJPT is also hopeful that we can help add some new volunteers to help check in on and care for the Peach Preserve’s shoreline garden, so please let us know if you have any interest in that.
It’s sure to be a beautiful day of hard-earned fun on Guemes Island’s Peach Preserve!
