The San Juan Preservation Trust (SJPT) respects your privacy, and we are committed to protecting it. The following policy presents an overview of how we collect, store, and manage your private information.
Collection and Storage of Personal Information
SJPT collects information that is necessary for becoming a member, including full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Donor information is stored in a password-protected database.
Use of Personal Information and Choice to Opt-Out
Personal information is used mainly for purposes related to SJPT membership. We use mailing addresses to send information related to SJPT news, events, or your membership status. SJPT never rents or sells member information. You may always opt out of receiving future mailings by notifying us.
If you provide an email address, it will be added to our member database and used for the purpose of communicating with you about SJPT news, events, and announcements. You may opt out of receiving emails at any time by notifying us directly or by clicking “Unsubscribe” on individual emails (such as e-newsletters). We never exchange, rent, or sell email addresses.
SJPT publishes donors’ names in our annual Year in Review newsletter. The Year in Review newsletter is distributed to all members of the organization (except those who have opted out of receiving postal mail). If you wish to be anonymous in the listing, please notify us and we will honor your request.
Credit Card Security
We use outside credit card processing companies to process online credit card transactions for donations and event fees. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. Online transactions made via credit card are encrypted via SSL (secure socket layer) technology.
Cookies and Aggregate Information
Our website uses a technology called “cookies.” These are small pieces of information that are temporarily stored on your computer. When you return to our site, your web browser passes a cookie from your computer back to our website. Cookies recall information you have entered previously so you don’t have to reenter it, tell us what pages on the site you previously visited, and help us determine whether you came to the site from a particular internet link. At no time will the cookie reveal to others any personal information about you, including your name, address, or e-mail address.
Our website automatically logs information such as IP address and browser type of all visitors in order to measure the usage of our website. We use this information to analyze how visitors use our site, which helps us improve our visitors’ experience.
SJPT takes photographs during public events and solicits photographs from our members and occasionally selects high-quality photos for distribution via this website, social media, newsletters, or other means. Photos are taken in public settings during public events. If you are included in a photograph and would prefer that it not be distributed, please contact us at the phone number or email address below and let us know what photo and where you saw it. We will do our best to remove it from circulation.
