Vendovi Island Preserve is open as of May 8, 2020, subject to the above conditions.
Due to Washington State stay-at-home restrictions, Vendovi Island Preserve did not open this year on April 1 as usual. With the recent re-opening of many State Parks and recreational boating facilities, however, we are opening Vendovi Island for public visitation as of Friday, May 8, subject to the conditions listed above. You can read more about the Preserve on this page.
Please note, in particular, that the island’s public restroom will remain closed until further notice. So, boaters, hit the head before you hit the island!
As always, during the Preserve’s open season visitation hours are 10am to 6pm, Thursday through Monday. (The Preserve is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.) Please note that the current conditions and restrictions are subject to change at any time, in accordance with public-health announcements from the Governor’s office.
Spending time in nature has so many benefits, and is especially treasured and essential during this challenging and stressful time. There are few places we know of where nature’s healing beauty is on more powerful display than Vendovi Island—so we are thrilled that we’re now able to open it again for public access and enjoyment.
