An abridged version of our short documentary “What’s So Great About Garry Oaks?” premiered at the Preservation Trust’s 42nd annual meeting in May 2021. Here, we present the full-length “director’s cut.” This version is just 3.5 minutes longer, but contains some bonus footage and information about our favorite oak species, Quercus garryana—including Dean Dougherty’s answer to the question, “Who was Garry, anyway?”

We have also created a longer, standalone version of our conversation with Samish Tribe member Sam Barr. You can watch that video, titled “Spálhxen: An Exploration of the Coast Salish Relationship with Coastal Prairies,” right here.
