Summer Social Comes to Orcas!

On Saturday, July 20, from 1pm–4pm, our annual Summer Social comes to Orcas Island. This is an exciting opportunity to celebrate community-based land conservation work while gaining a sneak peek into the North Shore Preserve before it opens to the public in the fall.

The 58-acre property, with its 1,850-foot stretch of shoreline in one of the islands’ highest-priority regions for salmon recovery, will provide much-needed public shoreline access on Orcas Island.

Admission is free! Please join us for a fun afternoon of light refreshments, socializing, and learning more about how, together, we're creating a bright future for the San Juan Islands.

Register by July 18 at 2:00pm. Learn more below!

Better Together: SJPT Endorses Renewal of the Conservation Land Bank

One of the Preservation Trust’s core values is collaboration, which recognizes that successful conservation work relies on active participation of people whose lives and livelihoods are interconnected to the natural areas we conserve. Collaboration also involves being an engaged community member.

With these guiding principles, the 16-member Board of Directors of the San Juan Preservation Trust, representing a cross-section of islands and political perspectives, has unanimously agreed to endorse the renewal of the San Juan County Conservation Land Bank. For 34 years, the Conservation Land Bank has protected water, forests, and farmland, making life in the San Juans better for all of us.
