How 2,600 feet of fencing is protecting Red Mill Farm and the Salish Sea
When we protect our island freshwater, the benefits flow all the way to the Salish Sea. Partnering with the Islands Conservation Corps, we recently installed 2,600 feet of fencing at Red Mill Farm Preserve on San Juan Island to keep cattle from contaminating water while restoring a critical freshwater creek that feeds into False Bay. It is a simple boundary that keeps bacteria out of our watersheds for local agriculture and marine life alike.
