Rob Roy McGregor

Mapping Specialist

Rob Roy McGregor grew up in Anacortes, where he spent countless days exploring the Anacortes Community Forest Lands, state parks, and public beaches of Fidalgo Island. This idyllic childhood fostered in him a love for public access to natural spaces and inspired him to pursue a career in conservation. He graduated with honors from the University of British Columbia with a B.Sc. in Forest Sciences.

Prior to joining the SJPT stewardship team, Rob Roy worked for land trusts in both Idaho and Alaska, where he developed his stewardship skills and understanding of the nonprofit land trust model of conservation. He worked as a full-time Preservation Trust land steward from 2016 until 2022, and continues to work with our staff as a part-time mapping specialist.
