Chris Guidotti
Red Mill Farm Caretaker
Chris Guidotti grew up on the East Coast where he spent most of his youth outdoors, often dragging his four younger siblings with him on adventures. He began working seasonally in State Parks on the East Coast in 1976 while getting his degree in forestry from Rutgers University in New Jersey. After graduating, he moved west and began his career as a ranger with Washington State Parks.
He worked all over the state and eventually managed some of the largest state park areas in Washington. Chris spent 38 years with Washington State Parks, working in more than 40 parks before retiring in 2023 to join the San Juan Preservation Trust as part-time caretaker at Red Mill Farm.
He is excited about bringing his passion for stewardship of natural, cultural, and historic resources to the Preservation Trust. He has two wonderful daughters who both live on San Juan Island and loves gardening, boating, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting and just about anything you can do outdoors.
