Vendovi Island is one of the Preservation Trust’s most spectacular preserves, but it’s hard to get there unless you have your own boat—or manage to snag a coveted place in one of our Vendovi outings for SJPT members. That has just changed, however, with the advent of a new series of tours that Bellingham-based San Juan Cruises is launching this summer. And they’re offering a discounted rate for SJPT members.
In an effort to allow more people to experience this unique and special island, the Preservation Trust is cooperating with San Juan Cruises by allowing them to offer package tours on seven Saturdays over the coming few months. Tour participants can take a one-hour guided nature walk and will receive a picnic lunch in an insulated carrier that they may keep after the cruise.
Departure is from San Juan Cruises’ facility by the Alaska Ferry Terminal in Fairhaven, just south of downtown Bellingham.
Tours are offered on these dates: June 2, June 16, June 30, July 14, July 28 and August 11. Departure is at 9 a.m. and arrival back in Bellingham at 2 p.m. The regular cost is $79 plus tax for adults, with youth ages 6-17 at $39.50 plus tax. Children under 6 go for free.
Members of the San Juan Preservation Trust may take advantage of a 20-percent discount by entering the discount code SPT when booking online. Click here for more information.
