Berries, bulbs, boughs and bark – these are just some of the parts of trees and plants that can be utilized for everything from food and medicine to fiber, tools, pigment and shelter. Drawing on knowledge gathered by early Northwest ethnobotanists and explorers, we will learn about practical uses for some of the floral species that were integral in the lives of the First Peoples and early settlers.
