Ihiya Biological Preserve wetland in autumn | Staff archive
The Iyhia Biological Preserve was originally purchased for conservation in 2018 by a group of neighbors who treasured the biological diversity found on this 33-acre property on San Juan Island, adjacent to Friday Harbor’s Trout Lake water supply. The group approached SJPT about purchasing the property at a bargain price, which we did at the tail end of 2021.
The preserve, which includes a loop trail with spurs, is open for day use. Read more here.
