In 1985, the San Juan Preservation Trust received a marvelous gift of 874 feet of shoreline on Guemes Island from Mr. and Mrs. William Wagley. The 11-acre parcel included an active eagle nest.
The Wagleys wanted the the land remain in its natural and undisturbed state. “We have enjoyed these beautiful islands for 26 years now, mostly as boaters, and are pleased to be able to give something back toward preserving them,” Mrs. Wagley said of the gift to the Preservation Trust.
