Vendovi Island Preserve
Vendovi Island
Year Protected: 2010
Land Protected: 217 acres
Shoreline Protected: 2.8 miles
Public Benefits: pristine beaches, lush forests, native grasslands, rich wildflower meadows, healthy wetlands, diverse plant and animal habitat
Vendovi Island is very remote, located east of Sinclair Island, southwest of Bellingham, and between Guemes and Lummi Islands. Only two of the island’s 217 acres have been developed. Vendovi is one of the wildest private islands in the San Juan archipelago, which is why for many years it has been a priority for permanent conservation.
Vendovi Island Preserve is open to the public from April 1 through September 30, 10am–6pm, Thursday–Monday (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
