Kelvin Baker

Director of Communications & Outreach

Kelvin joined the San Juan Preservation Trust as Director of Communications and Outreach in 2024. Previously, he led email marketing and video content production for an automotive industry company, and prior to that, he served as Marketing and Communications Manager with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.

In his free time, Kelvin enjoys tinkering on creative projects through a small media business that he started. He has collaborated over the years with clients including the San Francisco Symphony, the University of Michigan Medical School, Rocky Ridge Music Center, and an assortment of other nonprofits.

He is fueled by a passion for supporting communities in the multi-faceted challenges that they face. In 2019, he led the launch of a public EV carshare program focused on bringing affordable, zero-emission transit solutions to the northeast Ohio community.

A native of Michigan, Kelvin grew up exploring the Great Lakes region and gained an appreciation for the grounding energy of the natural world. His role with the Preservation Trust is an exciting way for him to more deeply support and connect with the environment.

Kelvin lives on Fidalgo Island with his fiancé, Emily. He is a graduate of Oberlin College & Conservatory.
