Tim Seifert joined the San Juan Preservation Trust in 2002 as its Executive Director. During his 15+ year tenure, he guided the organization through more than 150 transactions that have permanently protected 9,500 acres and 32 miles of island shoreline, including Turtleback Mountain, Vendovi Island, and ten other multi-million-dollar acquisitions.
In February 2018, he moved into his current role as Senior Advisor, in which he is supporting new leadership as the organization enters its next phase of growth and community-based conservation. A third-generation resident of the San Juan Islands, his family has owned a cabin on Waldron Island for more than 50 years, and his grandfather, Sam Fleming, served on the Preservation Trust’s original board of trustees.
Tim, his wife Sonya, and their young daughter Eva divide their time between Seattle and a remote outer island.
