Biodiversity Day Plant Upkeep

May 22, 2021 at 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

During this work party you won’t feel bad for picking flowers. Gorse and Scotch broom are growing wild at the Illg Preserve. We need your help to halt their spread and clear out space for diverse native plants to move back in. The Illg Preserve, near Eagle Point on San Juan Island, is a life estate that will one day be fully deeded to the Preservation Trust.

Celebrate #BiodiversityDay by spending the afternoon in an idyllic setting overlooking the Salish Sea, while supporting native botanicals and pulling out their competitors.

Kathleen Foley Lewis will lead this work party. Listed start and end times are approximate. Work parties typically last 3-4 hours and are timed to meet ferry schedules. Details about when and where to meet, etc., will be emailed to registered participants prior to the event. Please click here to register. Thank you for caring for these protected island places.
