The deer exclosure fence is up at Ellis Preserve, on Shaw Island, and there are lots of trees to plant inside this protected area!
Help us this Presidents’ Day (Feb 15th) to diversify the native plants on the preserve by planting species like Cascara, Bitter Cherry, Black Cottonwood, Paciifc Dogwood, Douglas Spirea, Indian Plum, Mock Orange, Pacific Ninebark, Paper Birch, and Serviceberry.
As Washington infamously chopped down a cherry tree- we will instead plant some cherries on this day!
This work party will be limited to 6 volunteers and will last 3-4 hours (with breaks and snacks). Details about when and where to meet, etc., will be emailed to registered participants prior to the event. Please click here to register and thank you for your help!
Volunteer event led by Dean Dougerty and Sierra O’Connell of SJPT. Questions? Contact Sierra at email@example.com or 206-602-9185.
