Island Marble Butterfly Plot Tour & Trowel (ON HOLD)

May 14, 2020
11:30 am - 3:00 pm

Event Type

*This event is on hold until the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order is lifted. Please check back in after we have a green light from our Governor.*

San Juan Preservation Trust’s Kathleen Foley Lewis will lead you on a tour of our Island Marble Butterfly (IMB) habitat patches. Throughout the tour you will learn how to identify and hand-pull invasive weeds to make room for IMB nectar and host plants. Mulching for weed control and moisture retention will also be on our task list. As you improve the butterfly patches, you will gain tips on how to garden for these pollinators. Get inspired to create your own butterfly garden at home and help this threatened island species expand its territory!

Work parties typically last 3-4 hours and coincide with ferry schedules.

Please invite your friends and sign up here so we can count on you. Further details including meeting location will be e-mailed to you prior to the event.
