Forest Immersion Walk at Beecher Preserve, Lopez
October 12, 2019 at 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
A growing body of research is casting light on how spending time outdoors, and specifically in natural open spaces and forests, reduces stress and makes us healthier.
We invite you to experience these benefits on SJPT-protected land during a forest-immersion (aka “forest bathing”) walk. Our guide is Aaron Thayne, who is certified by the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy. Aaron will help us deepen our connection with nature by slowing down and engaging all of our senses while exploring the trails of the quiet, 40-acre Beecher Preserve on Lopez Island.
Please note: This is more of a slow, mindful walk than a hike per se. Distance covered will be about one mile over gently sloping terrain. Time is subject to minor changes depending on Fall 2019 ferry schedule.
Fee: $45 includes guide expense and van transport from Lopez ferry landing and village. BYO lunch and water bottle.
