“The bluebird carries the sky on his back” -Henry David Thoreau. And with the sky, this year our western bluebirds also carry with them one of the most successful breeding seasons after their reintroduction. This time of year, the last clutch has fledged and migration commences, but these small thrushes will leave their homes quite a mess!
This leaves SJPT with end-of-season tasks to complete, which is why we are asking volunteers to help. Kathleen will lead the charge with moving and installing nest boxes, predator guarding, and cleaning boxes.
Join us to help to winterize bluebird homes by clicking here to register so we know how many people to expect.
We will meet at Red Mill Farm and work will last from about 11:00am to 3:00pm at the very latest.
