If you’d like to visit the Ellis Family Preserve (on Shaw Island), you have three opportunities this summer.
We’ll be holding Open Preserve Days, when the gates and doors will be open to the public from noon to 4:00 p.m. on three dates:
On July 13 (only), historian Boyd Pratt will lead two historic tours of the preserve’s older buildings, including the 1883 Tharald Homestead log cabin. The tours are free of charge, but participation is limited to the first 20 people who sign up for each one. Tours are at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
On all three Open Preserve Days, Preservation Trust staff and volunteer docents will be available to answer questions and offer guidance as you wander this amazing conservation legacy of Fred and Marilyn Ellis and their family.
