Eric Beckman  Lopez Island

Love of the outdoors and the ability to contribute to future generations experiencing the iconic San Juans motivated Eric to join the San Juan Preservation Trust’s Board in 2023. Prior to joining the Board, Eric served and continues to serve as the Preservation Trust’s Preserve Steward for the 40-acre Beecher Preserve on Lopez Island.

Eric is a retired CPA with experience in both the public and private sectors. Following his public accounting career, Eric moved into an executive leadership role with cybersecurity pioneer Watchguard Technologies where he introduced one of the first software-as-a-service models. Later in his corporate career, Eric blended his financial and technical backgrounds advising clients operating in more than 60 countries with global consulting firm Corporate Visions.

Preserving the unspoiled character of the San Juan Islands is one of the top priorities for Eric and his wife Melissa, both Northwest natives, who balance their time between Lopez Island and Bellevue. Eric especially enjoys attending ATP tennis tour events, discovering new hiking trails, and savoring the natural wellbeing that results from a day spent largely outdoors. He is also a WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) certified wine scholar who’s always up for a blind tasting.
