We’re pleased to present a number of educational, diverse, and downright fun events each year. Here is your opportunity to explore some of the hidden (and not-so-hidden) jewels in the San Juan Islands, all protected by the San Juan Preservation Trust.
Please note that current Preservation Trust members have first priority for these events and outings. Not a member? Not a problem! You can join now!
Questions regarding any of our outings can be directed to Diana Stepita, Director of Membership, at (360) 378-2461 or dianas@sjpt.org.

Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time, a film

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The San Juan Preservation Trust and the Orcas Island Public Library co-host this free screening of Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic For Our Time. This is the first full-length documentary made about the legendary conservationist. The film shares highlights of his extraordinary career, including his classic A Sand County Almanac, and explains how he shaped conservation and the modern environmental movement. It also illustrates Leopold’s vision of a community that cares both about people and land, and that continues to inform and inspire land preservation work across the county and around the world.
