Carol Avent and her husband Jon have owned property on Lopez since 1977 and have lived on the island full time since 1999. They–with two neighbors–have donated a conservation easement on their property. Carol is concerned with maintaining the beauty and ecosystems of the San Juans.
Her organizational experiences include a term on the board of the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts and serving several years as vice chair of the Academic Senate at CSU, Fresno.
